Temperance Fountain, Bristol

Overview

Summary

Temperance, a cast iron drinking fountain was erected in 1897 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The fountain was registered as a Grade II Historic Building on 8 January 1959. For Historic records and ahead of the planned renovation, Bristol City Council appointed Survey Base to Laser Scan the fountain and generate a precision mesh model. The Clients were delighted with the results and have since developed a 3D print of the fountain and are considering the production of replicas for tourist trade. This was an exciting project to work on and stands as testament to the expertise of the Survey Base Laser Scanning and Modelling units.
