Work has begun on a new multi-million-pound surgical centre at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Somerset. The surgical centre will include state-of-the-art operating theatres, a critical care unit and an endoscopy suite. It will improve patient experience as it will replace much of Musgrove’s ageing 1940s buildings where some of the most critically ill people in Somerset are cared for.
Designed by the South West team at BDP the building is being delivered by our Client Kier Construction Ltd. To date our brief has included a precision digital Topographical Survey, Utilities Survey and CCTV Survey of buried drainage systems.
The Utilities Survey followed the PAS128 methodology with tracing intervals at 0.5M spacing. This intense investigation was designed to reduce the risk of accident during excavation.
