The survey of the Skipton Building Society headquarters is an excellent example of our 3D Laser Scan to BIM (Building Information Modelling) service solution.
The purpose of the survey was to provide precise detailing of the building structure surrounding the existing courtyard. The proposed development included the creation of an atrium to cover the breakout central space.Our Clients, Bowman Riley, wanted information on rainwater systems, guttering, downpipes and gulley’s.
Surveying in an office environment presents specific challenges and requires careful planning and liaison with building management. We needed access above the suspended ceiling level to accurately survey concealed roof structure and drainage. Site work included an experienced 2 surveyor team using the latest 3D Faro Laser Scanning Instruments. The scan data was registered using Faro Scene to create a project Point Cloud.
Surveybase is an Autodesk practice using Revit software for BIM. The model was expertly constructed by our in-house CAD & BIM Team. A major benefit of our service is that Clients can view the model at any stage of creation and even discuss finer points with the CAD & BIM Technicians. On completion we ran modelling integrity checks using Navisworks clash detection software.
