The Royal United Hospital, Bath

Overview

Summary

The RUH has undergone major transformation in recent years. Notable works have included a new therapy centre and construction is underway for a brand-new cancer treatment centre.

Working alongside our Clients at Kier Construction we have provided comprehensive measured survey information that has been a reliable foundation for the multi-million-pound development programme.

Our involvement began with a precision digital Topographical Survey of the existing site delivering information in 2D AutoCAD with a seperate 3D points file. This was followed up with a full 3D Laser Scan Survey and finally a Utilities Survey of subterranean services.

Precision Digital Topographical Survey, The Royal United Hospital, Bath

The Utilities Survey followed the PAS128 methodology with tracing intervals at 0.5M spacing. This intense investigation was designed to reduce the risk of accident during excavation.

The 3D Laser Scan Survey was used to generate a basic 3D Revit Model of the site buildings. The model provided context information used as a backdrop in 3D design proposals.
