The hospital was founded to care for the “deserving poor” who sought the therapeutic benefits of Bath’s renowned Roman Baths. Over the years, it evolved to address shifting medical needs, becoming an NHS Foundation Trust in 2003 with a focus on rheumatic disease and rehabilitation while preserving its historic identity.

Surveybase were appointed to carry out a 3D BIM survey of the hospital, delivering a highly accurate model to support redevelopment plans for a 160-bed hotel. The final output met our standard specifications, with façades modelled to LOD4 and internal spaces to LOD3.

Our Senior BIM Technician, Martha Gregory commented

Bath Mineral Hospital one of the most iconic buildings in the centre of Bath. I’ve walked past it so many times and it was truly an honour for the team to survey and model this piece of history. Working with the Leica RTC and Revit software we provide accurate and precise BIM models and I personally cannot wait to see how this aids the regeneration of a much loved building.”
