What Is A UAV Survey?
UAV Surveys use aerial drones to capture geomatical data at high level. The procedure is beneficial in the record of large green and brown field sites and locations hard to reach or safe to traverse.
UAV Surveys deliver high definition photogrammetry and video. We use this data to generate point clouds similar to that of terrestrial laser scanning. The survey can be processed in 2D plan format or a 3D Survey Model .
We have developed our own UAV Survey technology able to deliver an engineering level of tolerance not possible with “off the shelf” Drone systems. Our pilots have recognised certification and we work responsibly with statutory authorities to obtain flight permits wherever required.
We typically deploy UAV Surveys where terrestrial laser scanning is not safe or will not deliver the detail required. Examples include roof top surveying that reduces the risk of accident and captures incredible data on the complex geometry.
In addition to survey measurement Clients value the high definition photography and overflight video. This information is beneficial to conditions inspection, informing conservation and maintenance programmes.
Today UAV Surveys are used extensively to record Topographical survey data, especially large open spaces such as agricultural sites, national parks, golf courses and quarries. Drones record survey data more rapidly than traditional Topographical survey teams, in fact up to 1km² of digital imagery per day.
By its nature, a UAV Survey is less intrusive than terrestrial surveying making them perfect for hazardous, populated, and protected sites.
UAV Measured Building Survey
We use UAV Surveys to complement our Measured Building Survey solutions. Typically deployed in the safe measurement of roof top geometry. Managed with ground control points and GPS instruments our Drones deliver photogrammetry data that is converted to a Point Cloud and made ready for processing in 2D AutoCAD or 3D Revit Model.
UAV Topographical Survey
UAV Surveys are a frequent feature of large area Topographical Surveying. Capturing up to 1km² of digital imagery per day they deliver tangible cost benefits over terrestrial data collection. Using specialist software applications, we carefully process the raw digital imagery into Topographical Site Plans and Ground Models.
UAV Inspection & Monitoring
UAV Surveys have changed the approach to roof top surveying. They provide access to the most challenging environments delivering vital information on condition and contamination. In addition to LiDAR our Drones are equipped with thermal sensors, radio frequency identification (RFID), gas monitors and ultrasonic testing instruments.
UAV Media Production
There is growing demand for aerial photography and video to promote business services online. Examples include housing developments, leisure, hospitality, sports clubs, music events and stadiums through to estate agency marketing. With your creative brief in mind, we can achieve the media content you desire. We film in high definition, 2K and 4K video and generate incredible sequences that will wow your target audience.
We will develop a survey specification that meets your precise requirements. Typical service options include.
- Roof Surveys
- Elevation Surveys
