Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Bristol

Overview

Summary

Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Bristol stands proudly on the corner of Wells Road and Broadwalk on the A37 commuter route to Bristol City centre. Constructed in the 1970’s on a site that has been a thriving retail hub for over 100 years.

Survey Base were appointed to provide comprehensive Topographical survey of today’s shopping mall and surrounding areas. The survey formed the first phase of a brief that includes a full Measured Building Survey, Elevations Survey & Utilities Survey. The deliverable in 2D AutoCAD dwg format.

Our experience in surveying retail sites dates to our very origin in 1998. This was the golden era of “out of town” retail development. We helped some of the UK’s largest retailers and developers transform the retail landscape on former brown field sites. The experience helped shape our practice and the proven operational systems we use to this very day.

Surveying the roads that surround Broadwalk was not for the faint of heart. The site survey was planned with military precision to ensure the safety of our surveyors and the public. We are delighted to report that the survey was completed without incident thanks to the skill and professionalism of the Survey Base Land Surveying team, the support of a traffic management consultant and considerable out of hours working.

The site survey data was processed in LSS software and uploaded to AutoCAD for finishing. The project passed through our 2-stage quality inspection and delivered to our Clients at Campbell Reith within the promised deadline.

“The Client was exceptionally pleased with the survey records and we are looking forward to supporting the development through design and construction”
