John Lewis Partnership, UK

Survey Base has worked with the John Lewis Partnership on several occasions since our foundation in 1997 including notable projects with supermarket retailer Waitrose.

 

Our initial experience with John Lewis focused on the maintenance of their department store layouts using change records provided by their operations team. This process was critical to the evaluation of sales performance versus space. This was soon followed with the provision of planning support for various department initiatives including the roll out of Click and Collect services. Following a significant increase in online commerce John Lewis wanted to provide a dedicated in store collection point that promoted their brand values and customer service ethos. Our holistic brief included site visits to establish an appropriate counter location with immediate connection to the back of house storage facility. Whilst the interior concept was developed our role was to develop a working layout environment.

Projects with Waitrose have included acquisition site surveys and planning support for department and product level change, including the horticultural initiative that was considered a major outsourcing success.
